Placements24 is seeking a Mine Ventilation Engineer for an underground operation near Bloemfontein, Free State. The role focuses on designing, implementing, and managing ventilation systems to ensure safe air quality, temperature control, and dust suppression in a demanding mining environment.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Mining or Mechanical Engineering and at least 6 years of underground ventilation experience, with proficiency in Ventsim and Surpac Minex.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 6 years of experience in mine ventilation engineering, underground mining.
• Proficiency with mine ventilation modeling software such as Ventsim and Surpac Minex.
• Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid dynamics, and air quality management in mining environments.
• Familiarity with South African mining regulations and safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and monitor mine ventilation systems for safety and optimal conditions.
• Conduct regular ventilation surveys, including airflow measurements and dust sampling.
• Analyze ventilation data and develop solutions for air quality, temperature, and pressure control.
• Develop and maintain ventilation plans and schematics using specialized software.
• Collaborate with underground operations to align ventilation with production targets.
• Provide training on ventilation procedures and safety protocols.
