About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous and experienced Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in George . This role is crucial for ensuring the safety, efficiency, and accuracy of all mining operations through precise surveying and spatial data management. You will work closely with mine planners, engineers, and production teams to define mine boundaries, monitor excavation progress, and ensure compliance with geological plans and safety regulations. The position requires a hands-on approach and a deep understanding of underground and open-pit surveying techniques in a dynamic mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed surveys of underground and surface mining areas, including mine workings, ore bodies, and infrastructure.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks and perform routine checks on their integrity.
• Monitor and record excavation progress, volumes, and compliance with mine plans.
• Utilize advanced surveying equipment, including total stations, GPS, and laser scanners, along with related software.
• Prepare survey plans, cross-sections, and reports for mine planning, engineering, and regulatory purposes.
• Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and environmental regulations during surveying activities.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Degree in Mine Surveying or a related discipline.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in the mining industry.
• Proficiency with surveying software such as AutoCAD, Surpac, or Deswik.
• Experience operating and maintaining advanced surveying instruments.
• Strong understanding of mining methods and geological principles.
• Valid driver's license and ability to pass a medical examination for underground work.
