Qualifications

• Degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics (National Diploma/Bachelor).
• 3+ years as a Mine Surveyor, mining experience preferred.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and data processing software.

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Mine Surveyor to join their operational team in Mahikeng. This role is crucial for accurately mapping and measuring mine sites, ensuring that all excavations, boundaries, and infrastructure are precisely located and recorded. You will work with advanced surveying equipment and software, collaborating closely with mine planners and engineers to support efficient and safe extraction operations. This is a hands‑on position vital to the operational integrity and spatial management of the mine in the North West province.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct surface and underground surveys using total stations, GPS, drones, and laser scanners.
• Establish and maintain survey control networks for the mine site.
• Prepare and update mine plans, cross-sections, and contour maps based on survey data.
• Calculate volumes of ore, waste, and stockpiles.
• Monitor and record ground movement and subsidence.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant surveying regulations and company standards.
• Collaborate with mine engineers and geologists to provide accurate spatial data for planning and operations.
• Perform final boundary surveys and as-built surveys for infrastructure.

Requirements

• National Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mine Surveying or Geomatics.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Mine Surveyor, preferably in a mining environment.
• Proficiency with surveying instruments and data processing software (e.g., AutoCAD, Carlson Survey).
• Knowledge of mine surveying principles, regulations, and practices.
• Experience with 3D modeling and digital terrain modeling.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy, with good problem‑solving skills.
