Placements24 seeks a strategic Mine Planning Engineer near Mossel Bay to develop short-term and long-term mine plans, optimize production, and maximize resource recovery while ensuring safety and efficiency.

You will design 3D mine layouts, integrate geological and survey data, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement plans and adapt to site changes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mining Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in mine planning engineering, with exposure to different mining methods.
• Proficiency with mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, Whittle, or similar.
• Strong understanding of geological modeling, resource estimation, and mine economics.
• Experience with open-pit and/or underground mine design and scheduling.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

You will utilize advanced modeling software to design extraction sequences, production schedules, and infrastructure layouts for both open-pit and underground mining operations.
