About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated Mine Planning Engineer to join their team in Randburg . This role is central to the long-term success of the mining operation, involving the development and optimization of mine plans to ensure efficient and safe resource extraction. You will work with geological and survey data to create short, medium, and long-term mine plans, considering factors such as economics, safety, and environmental constraints. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, proficiency in mine planning software, and a deep understanding of mining engineering principles, contributing to strategic decision-making for the operation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain integrated mine plans for both open-pit and underground operations.


• Perform economic evaluations and sensitivity analyses for various mining scenarios.


• Collaborate with geological and survey teams to incorporate updated resource models into mine plans.


• Ensure mine plans comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and operational constraints.

Requirements

• Degree in Mining Engineering or a closely related field.


• A minimum of 5 years of experience in mine planning and design.


• Proficiency with industry-standard mine planning software.


• Strong understanding of geological modeling , resource estimation, and geotechnical principles.


• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
