Placements24 in Cape Town is seeking a Project Mechanical Engineer to lead end-to-end mechanical engineering for renewable energy installations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient performance on site.

You will manage design, procurement, installation and commissioning, interpret drawings, develop BOMs, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards, while delivering on schedule.

Qualifications

• BEng or BSc in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in mechanical engineering project management.
• Experience in renewable energy is highly preferred; strong CAD/PM software skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage mechanical design and integration of renewable energy systems.
• Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical evaluations.
• Develop detailed mechanical drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Oversee procurement, installation and commissioning of mechanical equipment.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental standards, and timelines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues during project execution and operation.
