Job summary

Barloworld Equipment seeks an on-site assistant to support mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs on machines and components. You will ensure tools are ready, assist with lifting tasks up to 20 kg, and help maintain a safe, clean workplace while pursuing forklift and crane operator certifications within 90 days.

A valid Code B driver’s license is an advantage; Grade12 is required, with relevant experience considered.

Qualifications

• Assist mechanics in performing maintenance and repairs.
• Willing to learn and follow instructions under supervision.
• Lift and move objects up to 20 kg with appropriate equipment.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas.
• Have or obtain forklift operator certification within 90 days.
• Possess a valid driver’s license (Code B is an advantage).

• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach
• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size
• Clean and maintain facilities and equipment
• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace

• Know which tools are used for which jobs and ensure the mechanic / technician has them within reach
• Physically lift, keep in place and / or move up to 20kg or use appropriate lifting and slinging equipment for objects larger in size

• Assist artisan to obtain and check parts for particular jobs
• Maintain a safe and orderly workplace
