Job summary

Barloworld Equipment (Pty) Ltd seeks qualified personnel to perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment to supplier standards and customer requirements. You will diagnose machine systems on customer sites or at the BWE site, compiling MIRs and TA reports.

Candidate should demonstrate professional image, safe work practices, containment controls, and be able to handle admin tasks like labour bookings and parts returns while ensuring quality and

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent is required, with a relevant trade qualification (Diesel/Earthmoving) NQF 3.
• CAT machine specific technical knowledge and skills are required.
• Sound communication skills and ability to interpret information effectively.
• Basic technical report writing and financial understanding are expected.
• Driver's license – Code B is required.
• Understanding of supplier warranty systems, policies & procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment and components to supplier standards and customer requirements.

• Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including MIRs and TAs.
• Maintain professional image when representing BWE.
• Ensure safe work practices and control contamination.
• Manage own admin (labour bookings, service reports, parts returns, expenses).
• Follow through to ensure quality and productivity standards are maintained.

Key Outputs

• Perform planned and breakdown repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment and components to supplier standards and customer requirements
• Quickly and efficiently diagnose machine systems and carry out repairs, services and maintenance on Earthmoving Equipment on customer sites or at BWE site.
• Compile accurate customer machine analysis and reports including Machine Inspection Reports (MIR’s) and Technical Analysis Reports (TA’s)
• Maintain professional image when representing BWE
• Ensure safe work practice
• Control Contamination
• Control own admin (labour booking, service reports, part returns, expenses etc.)
• Follow through to ensure that quality and productivity standards of own work are consistently and accurately maintained

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

• Grade 12 or equivalent
• Qualification in relevant trade (e.g. Diesel Mechanic/Earthmoving Equipment Mechanic) NQF 3
• Computer literate
• CAT Machine specific technical knowledge and skills
• Sound interpretation of communication skills
• Basic technical report writing
• Basic business and financial understanding
• Some computer literacy (SIS, STW& ET) knowledge
