Job summary

The Department of Health invites applications for the position of Material Recording Officer (Re-Advertisement) at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital. Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management or a relevant Diploma/Degree with at least 2 years in government SCM.
• Understanding of Transit processes (Receiving, GVR Capturing, Invoices/Work cycle clearing, Expenditure) and Inventory/Acquisition management.
• Computer literate with MS Packages and SAP/SRM; strong knowledge of SCM processes, policies and prescribed systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and supervise Transit section personnel and functions within SCM, including reporting and work-flow oversight.

Requirements

• Grade 12 or equivalent with a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in Supply Chain Management- or a relevant National Diploma or Degree with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in government Supply Chain Management. It is imperative that the applicant demonstrates good understanding of process in Transit (Receiving, GVR Capturing, Invoices/Work cycle clearing and Expenditure functions) as well as Inventory Management and Acquisition management. In addition, candidate must be computer literate with better understanding of Ms. Packages and or programs such as Ms. Power Point, Teams, Excel and Word and knowledge of SAP system. Competencies: In depth Knowledge and understanding of Supply Chain Management processes, applicable systems (SAP/SRM), relevant prescripts, regulations and policies. Skills: Candidate to portray good leadership skills, report writing, presentation and any other relevant management qualities and or skills. The following will be added advantage: Driver’s license.

Duties

• Manage and utilize human resources in accordance with HR directives and legislation within the designated sections. Manage and supervise functions and functionaries within Transit (Receiving, Work-cycle and Expediting space). Manage the exception reports within Transit section (Commitment’s report and Web cycle report) including supervision of any other SCM related functionaries as allocated. Support and assist inventory management as and when the need arises. Provide customer care service to both internal and external clients in relation to queries related to the designated sections and or in relevance to SCM process in general. Compile and or submit report in line with duties / functions they are responsible for.
