Job summary

Job description

  • Package : R487 197.00 per annum (plus benefits)
Requirements :
  • Qualifications: Grade 12 Certificate, Bachelor’s Degree/Advanced Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Logistics Management/Purchasing Management, Public Administration qualifications or any other relevant tertiary qualification at NQF Level 7. Experience: A minimum of three (3) years supply chain management experience at a supervisory level. Skills: A valid driver’s licence. Management of resources, supervisory skills with strong leadership qualities. Advance knowledge in demand and/or acquisition management. Ability to work independently without close supervision. Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and able to work under pressure. The incumbent should be self-driven, creative, innovative, flexible, and highly motivated. Excellent co-ordination skills, Ability to work in a team environment. Client service orientated. Have initiative and pay close attention to detail. Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal ability to interact with people across all levels. Excellent writing and communication skills, ability to manage and plan, as well as advance computer literacy (Excel, PowerPoint, and MS. Outlook) Training knowledge skills. Extensive knowledge of Supply Chain Management in the Public Sector. Communication and Interpersonal skills, Problem Solving skills, Computer skills, Numeracy skills, Analytical skills, Client orientated, Commitment, Integrity, Loyal, Team Leadership, Presentation skills, Planning, and Organizing. Understanding of the PFMA, Treasury Regulations, PPPFA, BBBEE Act, Competition Act, Promotion of Access of Information Act, and related Practice Notes.
Duties :
  • Coordinate review, research, analyze and plan the procurement needs of the department. Research and analyse the identified needs or commodity. Undertake need analysis and ensure that the requirements are as per the approved business case. Undertake market and industry research and then determine and develop proposals for implementation. Assess the results of the research on the market, interprets and develops proposals for the relevant strategic sourcing strategy and/or procurement methodology. Ensure compliance with quality requirements. Determine whether specifications should contain any special conditions. Determine the correct or relevant preference point system. Collect and collate information for the annual procurement plan. Check and analyze the information. Confirm availability of funds or budget. Check the need’s alignment against strategic and other objectives. Consolidate into annual procurement plan and submit for approval by the accounting officer on time. Supervise and compile tender/quotation specifications with the relevant evaluation criteria. Supervise employees to ensure an effective demand management service and undertake all administrative functions required about financial and HR administration. This would, inter alia, entail the following: General supervision of employees. Allocate duties and perform quality control on the work delivered by employees. Advice and lead team regarding all aspects of the work. Manage performance, conduct, and discipline of employees. Ensure that all employees are trained and developed to be able to deliver work of the required standard efficiently and effectively.
