Crew Life at Sea Ltd. in Cape Town is seeking a Senior Technical Operations Manager to oversee the technical operations of our vessels, coordinating maintenance, repairs and inspections.

You will lead maintenance planning, monitor performance, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide guidance to the crew while coordinating with vessel owners and stakeholders. This role requires strong leadership, decision-making under pressure, and travel on board as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marine Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a technical supervisory role in the maritime industry.
• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, maintenance, and repair.
• Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry standards.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Proficient in using computer software and programs.
• Willingness to travel and work on board vessels when necessary.
• Valid certifications and licenses as required by the industry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the technical operations of our vessels, including maintenance, repairs, and inspections.
• Develop and implement maintenance and repair schedules to ensure vessels are kept in optimal condition.
• Monitor vessel performance and identify areas for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Manage the procurement of spare parts and equipment.
• Provide technical support and guidance to crew members.
• Coordinate with vessel owners and other stakeholders to address any technical issues.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and ensure all safety procedures are followed.
• Keep accurate records and reports of all technical operations.
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and implement best practices.
