Job summary

Headhunters is seeking a maintenance leader for a large-scale production facility in Limpopo. The role focuses on managing the full maintenance function, fulfilling GMR 2.1 responsibilities, and driving reliability improvements across mechanical and electrical systems.

The ideal candidate will have GCC Factories certification, 3+ MW plant experience, and a track record in high-capacity manufacturing environments, including FMCG. Leadership and problem-solving skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Relevant Engineering qualification essential.
• GCC - Factories certificate required.
• Experience with plants operating at 3+ MW.
• Registered as GMR 2.1 responsible person.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience in food manufacturing or FMCG environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage full maintenance function for a large-scale production facility.
• Fulfil GMR 2.1 responsibilities and ensure statutory compliance.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability.
• Oversee breakdown management, fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate maintenance planning, projects, contractors and technical resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and increase efficiency.
• Ensure mechanical and electrical systems are maintained to standard.
• Lead and develop a technical maintenance team.

• Experience with plants/facilities operating at 3+ Megawatts (MW).
• Proven experience managing maintenance within a high-capacity industrial manufacturing environment.
• Registered/appointed as a GMR 2.1 responsible person.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience in production-driven environments such as food manufacturing, FMCG, processing or similar industries.
• Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.
