Job summary

Headhunters is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager for a large-scale, high-capacity industrial facility in Polokwane. You will lead the full maintenance function, ensure GMR 2.1 compliance, and drive preventative strategies to maximise plant reliability and uptime.

The ideal candidate holds an engineering qualification and GCC - Factories, with strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills and a proven track record in FMCG or processing industries.

Qualifications

• Engineering qualification essential.
• Valid GCC - Factories.
• Experience with plants/facilities operating at 3+ MW.
• Proven maintenance management in high-capacity industrial manufacturing.
• Registered/appointed as a GMR 2.1 responsible person.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting ability.
• Experience in production-driven environments (food, FMCG, processing).
• Strong leadership, planning and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage full maintenance function for large-scale production facility.
• Fulfil GMR 2.1 responsibilities and ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement preventative maintenance strategies to improve plant reliability.
• Oversee breakdown management, fault finding and root cause analysis.
• Coordinate maintenance planning, projects, contractors and technical resources.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on efficiency and downtime reduction.
• Ensure mechanical and electrical systems are maintained to required operational standards.
• Lead and develop a technical maintenance team.
