Job summary

Cape Joy in Klapmuts, South Africa, seeks an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead operations at our estate. This role drives profitability, elevates guest experiences, and upholds operational excellence across all restaurant activities. Requirements: Grade 12; Hospitality Management qualification advantageous.

5+ years in restaurant management, with at least 3 years as GM in fine dining. Proficiency with POS, inventory software, ZOHO, and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Matric required; Hospitality Management qualification advantageous.
• 5+ years restaurant management experience; 3+ years in senior/GM role in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
• Experience developing SOPs and ensuring regulatory compliance (food safety, liquor, Labour, OHS).
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, cost control and P&L management.
• Proficient with POS systems, inventory software, ZOHO and MS Office.
• Excellent leadership, coaching and communication skills.
• Must be available to work evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service, opening/closing procedures, and ensure seamless operations.
• Develop, implement, and continuously improve SOPs while ensuring full compliance with relevant regulations.
• Recruit, train, and mentor a high-performing team; manage scheduling and performance reviews.
• Deliver brand-aligned guest experiences, build loyalty, and resolve concerns.
• Manage budgets, control food and labour costs, analyse reports, drive revenue.
• Oversee stock ordering, supplier relationships, audits to minimise waste.
