Job summary

Cape Joy is seeking an experienced, hands-on Restaurant Manager to lead operations at our Klapmuts estate in the Western Cape. The ideal candidate will drive profitability, elevate guest experiences, and uphold operational excellence across all facets of restaurant operations.

The role requires 5+ years of restaurant management, with at least 3 years in a senior or GM capacity within fine dining or luxury hospitality, and strong skills in budgeting, POS systems, and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Matric required with hospitality knowledge preferred.
• 5+ years restaurant management experience in fine dining or luxury hospitality.
• Experience developing SOPs and ensuring regulatory compliance (food safety, liquor, OHS).
• Strong financial acumen with budgeting, cost control and P&L management.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily service and opening/closing procedures, ensuring operational excellence.
• Develop, implement and improve SOPs while maintaining compliance with food safety, liquor licensing, health & safety and labour laws.
• Recruit, train and mentor a high-performing team with strong scheduling and performance reviews.
• Deliver memorable, brand-aligned dining experiences and foster guest loyalty.
• Manage budgets, control food and labour costs, analyse reports, and drive revenue through promotions.
• Oversee stock ordering, receiving, supplier relationships and regular audits to minimise waste.
• Support marketing initiatives, events and menu engineering to identify new revenue opportunities.
