Job summary

Career Growth Hospitality Recruitment & Training in Cape Town is seeking an Assistant Restaurant General Manager for a signature restaurant within a luxury hotel. The role focuses on delivering exceptional dining experiences, developing a capable team and upholding high service standards.

You will partner with the Restaurant General Manager to oversee daily operations, guest interactions and financial targets, while ensuring LQA standards are met and payroll and rostering processes run smoothly.

Qualifications

• Three to five years’ F&B management experience in a luxury environment.
• Strong leadership and team development skills.
• Sound knowledge of restaurant operations, food costs, staff scheduling and payroll.
• A confident, professional approach to guest service.
• Good food, wine and beverage knowledge.
• Knowledge of Silverware would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Support the Restaurant General Manager with the daily running of the restaurant.
• Monitor guest feedback and handle enquiries and complaints professionally.
• Manage operational resources in line with revenue and cost budgets.
• Contribute ideas to improve service and encourage repeat business.
• Work with the Director of Food and Beverage on wine and beverage lists.
• Train and develop the team in food, beverages and service standards.
• Ensure service is delivered in line with Leading Quality Assurance (LQA) standards.
• Assist with payroll, staff rosters and operational reporting.
