Job summary

Enaex in South Africa seeks a transportation scheduling professional to manage end-to-end transport for stock orders and customer deliveries, locally and cross-border. You will generate loading instructions in SAP and ensure all permits and documentation are in place, while coordinating with own fleet and 3PLs.

The role requires proactive rescheduling, adherence monitoring, and ongoing cost and service improvements within safety and scheduling rules.

Responsibilities

• Schedule transport across the value chain, covering both stock transport orders and customer deliveries, local and cross-border
• Compile optimal loading and delivery schedules
• Source capacity and allocate loads to transporters, both own fleet and 3PLs, to ensure effective use of resources, customer service and cost containment
• Generate SAP documentation, including shipments and loading instructions
• Ensure transporters have the necessary documentation for loading, and that correct and valid transport permits are in place
• Ensure supplier compliance with safety rules, business rules and scheduling parameters
• Continuously track schedule execution and adherence
• Conduct dynamic rescheduling and re-planning to accommodate constant changes in market or business requirements
• Implement corrective controls to achieve schedule demands regardless of changing circumstances
• Monitor demurrage charges from 3PLs
• Continuously reduce cost and improve service levels within the constraints of business rules and safety requirements
• Identify gaps and implement improvements to business and scheduling rules
• Report on performance by tracking unit and truck outcomes against targets
• Maintain the implemented unit operations plan by understanding key activities, projects and performance indicators, communicating objectives to relevant stakeholders, and monitoring execution daily
• Monitor implementation of unit business processes by monitoring compliance, identifying process anomalies and executing corrective action as required
• Drive effective utilisation and continuous development of unit systems
• Adhere to company policies and procedures, and keep updated with newly implemented procedures
