Job summary

Samancor Chrome is seeking a qualified candidate for a role focused on safety, health, environment and quality within logistics. The responsibilities include risk assessment, adherence to SHEQ Toolbox, IMS usage, stakeholder liaison, customer satisfaction, and detailed despatch/product processes using MES and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox). Identify and assess level of continuous risk exposures in area of responsibility by considering exposures to business, financial, legal issues, people, equipment, material, environment, processes, etc.
• Consider the level of risk, apply mitigation and implement control measures for residual risk (set objectives, minimum requirements, etc.).
• Comply with SHEQ requirements (SHEQ Toolbox).
• Utilise the Integrated Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.
• Maintain relationships with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure staffing goals are achieved.
• Ensure Customer Satisfaction as specified by Logistic practitioner.
• Check weighbridge tickets for accuracy.
• Daily product approvals of despatches and inter dump movements on MES.
• Do daily and weekly report for production and despatches.
• Check rail consignments for local and export trains and communicate to Marketing, Smelters and Group Procurement Services.
• Maintain the filing system for the despatch documentation for audit purposes and load monthly orders on MES.
• Communicate and reply to customer queries.
• Do purchase requisitions and service entries for service providers.
• Do reservations for supplies for office and weighbridges.
• Plan weekend overtime and sort out queries with time office.
• Keep record and control PPE issues.
• Do reconciliation of despatches with Smelters and transporters and sort out queries.
