National Planner and Transport Manager

Job Purpose

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning, coordinating and optimising transport and supply chain activities using the Transport Management System (TMS) to enable reliable, cost-efficient and customer-focused execution. The role develops and monitors transport plans, optimises routes, loads and vehicle utilisation, analyses transport data, and identifies continuous improvement opportunities. The Planner also runs strategic optimisation models to assess fleet mix, service-day configurations and master routes, and provides data-driven inputs into network modelling and transport strategy decisions.

Strategic imperatives that inform the role

Use a systematic and data-driven approach to manage the end-to-end planning process from demand and transport planning through to delivery at the end destination (distribution centre, customer or consumer). The role balances service, capacity and cost to ensure that the right product, in the right quantity, reaches the specified destination within the required timeframe and at an appropriate cost, while identifying opportunities to improve network and transport performance.
