Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a proactive Logistics Coordinator for its East London operations in the Eastern Cape. You will oversee the end-to-end shipping process for international shipments, coordinating with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs brokers to ensure timely delivery and compliance.

The role requires a Diploma or degree in logistics or related field and at least 2 years in logistics coordination or international shipping.

Qualifications

Diploma or degree in logistics or related field.
Minimum 2 years in logistics coordination or international shipping.
Understanding of import/export procedures and customs regulations.
Proficient in MS Office and logistics software.

Responsibilities

Coordinate and manage international shipments (air, sea, land).
Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, and customs officials to arrange transportation and clear shipments.
Prepare and process shipping documentation (bills of lading, invoices, customs declarations).
Track shipments and provide updates to clients and internal stakeholders.
Monitor import/export compliance regulations.
Resolve logistical issues or delays during transit.
Maintain records of shipments, costs, and delivery times.
Negotiate rates with service providers to optimize costs.
Collaborate with warehouse and distribution teams for smooth goods movement.
Assist in improving logistics processes.
