Job summary

West Coast Personnel is seeking an experienced Export Logistics Coordinator to oversee export shipments, vessel bookings and container planning in Stellenbosch. You will liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters and cold stores, ensuring deadlines and regulatory compliance.

You will also support the commercial team with orders, stock planning and shipment reporting, maintaining accurate stock records and proactive communication across departments in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 to 8 years' experience in the fruit export industry.
• Experience in high-volume export environment.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate export shipments, vessel bookings, container planning and loading schedules. Liaise with shipping lines, freight forwarders, transporters and cold stores. Monitor shipment progress, manage export documentation and meet shipping deadlines. Coordinate stock allocations, movements and cold store operations. Identify and resolve logistical challenges, particularly during peak export seasons. Ensure compliance with export regulations and destination market requirements.

• Assist the commercial team with customer orders, shipment requirements and stock planning. Communicate with customers, producers, packhouses and internal stakeholders. Support forecasting, cost verification and shipment reporting. Maintain accurate stock records, reconciliations and logistics information. Assist with commercial administration and day-to-day operational requirements. Provide proactive customer service and ensure effective communication across departments.

Minimum Requirements

• Minimum 3 to 8 years' experience in the fruit export industry
• Practical experience in export logistics, shipping coordination or freight forwarding.
• Direct exposure to shipping lines, vessel bookings, container planning and export documentation.
• Experience in a high-volume export environment.
• Good understanding of the operational requirements of international shipping.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with logistics systems.
• Diploma or Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Strong communication, organisational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage competing deadlines.
• Experience with QX or similar export management systems will be advantageous.
