Job summary

Our client in Stellenbosch is seeking a Logistics Coordinator with a track record in fruit export or FMCG logistics. The role requires coordinating with cold stores, packhouses and freight forwarders, managing stock and ensuring timely export documentation and vessel schedules.

A valid driver’s licence and clean record are essential. Applicants should have a tertiary qualification in Logistics or Supply Chain, and at least three years of relevant experience in the fruit export sector.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years' relevant experience in fruit export or FMCG logistics.
• Strong knowledge of international shipping, freight forwarding, export processes, vessel bookings and shipping documentation.
• Experience in stock management, forecasting, load planning and movement of fruit between cold stores and other locations.
• Experience coordinating with cold stores, packhouses, transporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other stakeholders.
• Understanding of export documentation, shipping deadlines, container tracking, ETD/ETA, stack dates and vessel schedules.
• Experience ensuring compliance with destination market requirements, quality standards, inspections, labeling, permits.
• Strong administrative and organisational skills and attention to detail in stock records and shipment information.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and ability to manage disruptions and time-sensitive export deadlines.
• Valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record.

Our client, a progressive and expanding fruit export and marketing company, seeks to employ a Logistics Coordinator to join this dynamic and professional team.

Candidates from the fruit and fresh produce export or FMCG logistics sector will receive preference.

KEY REQUIREMENTS TO MEET FOR CONSIDERATION

• You will have a tertiary qualification in Logistics Management, Supply Chain Management or a related field.
• Proven experience in logistics coordination within the fruit export, fresh produce or related export industry, with a minimum of 3 years' relevant experience.
• A strong working knowledge of international shipping, freight forwarding, export processes, vessel bookings and shipping documentation.
• You will have experience in stock management, stock reconciliation, forecasting, load planning and coordinating the movement of fruit between cold stores and other storage locations.
• You will have experience coordinating with cold stores, packhouses, transporters, freight forwarders, shipping lines and other internal and external stakeholders.
• You will have a strong understanding of export documentation, shipping deadlines, container tracking, ETD and ETA management, stack dates and vessel schedules
• You will have experience ensuring compliance with destination market requirements, quality standards, inspections, labelling requirements and import permits.
• You will have strong administrative and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and accuracy in managing stock records, logistics documentation and shipment information.
• You will have strong problem‑solving abilities and the ability to manage logistical disruptions, changing priorities and time‑sensitive export deadlines.
• You must have a valid driver’s licence, own car and a clear criminal and credit record
