Job summary

Staff Solutions is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end ocean freight operations, with exports as a primary shipment mode.

The role focuses on coordinating export customs, ensuring regulatory compliance, budgeting, and optimizing freight solutions to meet delivery targets.

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of relevant experience in shipping, freight forwarding or international logistics.
• Qualification in International Trade, Clearing and Forwarding, Shipping, or related field.
• Ability to work extended hours and meet deadlines.
• Experience in freight forwarding sales is an added advantage.

• Manage end-to-end booking, transportation and ocean freight arrangements, with exports as the primary mode of shipment.
• Coordinate export customs processes and documentation through to CIF stage.
• Ensure compliance with local and international regulations governing citrus transport.
• Oversee departmental budgets and cost management.
• Administer shipping line allocations to match contractual volumes.
• Evaluate freight solutions to meet delivery and arrival targets.

Job description

Key Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end booking, transportation and ocean freight arrangements, with exports serving as the primary mode of shipment.
• Coordinate and oversee export customs processes and all required documentation through to the CIF stage.
• Ensure strict compliance with all applicable local and international regulations, procedures and protocols governing the transportation of citrus products.
• Take responsibility for departmental budgets, expenditure control and overall cost management.
• Effectively administer shipping line allocations to ensure they remain aligned with agreed contractual volumes and commitments.
• Evaluate and utilise appropriate freight solutions and alternatives to ensure customer delivery requirements and expected arrival dates are consistently achieved.

• Comprehensive understanding of ocean freight operations and processes.

• Strong commercial negotiation and relationship-management skills.
• Working knowledge and understanding of financial systems and processes.

Minimum Requirements

• 7–10 years of relevant experience within the shipping, freight forwarding or international logistics industry.
• A relevant qualification in International Trade, Clearing and Forwarding, Shipping, or a related field.
• Ability to work extended hours when required and perform effectively under strict deadlines and time-sensitive conditions.
• Previous experience in transport logistics will be considered an advantage.
• Exposure to or experience in freight forwarding sales will be an added advantage.
