Job summary

Jackie Cory Recruitment is helping a citrus grower and exporter recruit a Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end export logistics, shipping, container planning, stock flow and deliveries. You will lead two Logistics Coordinators, optimise costs and transit times, coordinate movements between packhouses, cold stores and ports, and liaise with commercial teams.

This role requires a relevant degree and 3–5 years in logistics, with fluency in Afrikaans and English.

Logistics Manager

Our client is a citrus grower and exporter, is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to oversee end-to-end export logistics, shipping, container planning, stock flow and customer deliveries. The successful candidate will lead two Logistics Coordinators and ensure efficient, cost-effective operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage shipping-line relationships, vessel bookings and weekly shipping requirements.

• Plan container requirements, loading schedules and customer allocations.

• Coordinate fruit movement between packhouses, cold stores and ports.

• Monitor stock flow, cold-store capacity, vessel schedules and customer ETAs.

• Align logistics planning with harvest forecasts, production volumes and customer requirements.

• Lead and support two Logistics Coordinators.

• Identify opportunities to optimise logistics costs, transit times and operational efficiency.

• Liaise with commercial teams, demand planners, packhouses and external logistics providers.

Minimum Requirements:

• Relevant university degree.

• 3-5 years’ experience in logistics, shipping or supply chain management.

• Fluent in Afrikaans and English.

• Strong planning, communication, problem-solving and organisational skills.

• Hands-on approach with the ability to manage operations under pressure.

• Own reliable transport.

• Citrus or fresh produce export experience will be advantageous.
