Department of Health in Gauteng seeks a Lecturer for the Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery at Gauteng College of Nursing. The post requires a Nursing Education qualification and registration with SANC, plus a Post Basic/Postgraduate qualification in midwifery.

The successful candidate will deliver education and training to specialist student nurses, mentor learners, and contribute to curriculum implementation and scholarly activities.

Qualifications

• . A Grade 12/ NSC.
• . A Basic qualification accredited with SANC or equivalent.
• . Diploma/Degree in Nursing Education.
• . Post Basic Diploma in Midwifery or Postgraduate Diploma in Midwifery.
• . Master’s degree in nursing or public health.
• . Proof of current SANC registration.
• . Good communication, supervisory, report writing, and presentation skills.
• . Ability to work in a team and under pressure.
• . Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• . A valid driver’s license.
• . PND1: 4 years nursing experience; PND2: 14 years nursing experience.

Responsabilités

• Facilitate the provision of Education and Training of specialist student nurses in both clinical and theory.
• Guide and support student nurses effectively.
• Exercise control over specialist student nurses.
• Implement assessment strategies to determine students’ competency.
• Support the vision and mission of the college through meetings and college activities.
• Participate in Scholarly Research and Community Engagement activities and curriculum implementation.
