Job summary

Placements24 seeks an experienced Manufacturing Industrial Engineer to join a Polokwane production facility. You will analyze lines, design layouts, develop SOPs, and drive lean initiatives to improve efficiency, quality and safety on the factory floor.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and at least 5 years in a production environment, with strong CAD skills, problem solving and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing/industrial engineering within a production environment.
• Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques and continuous improvement.
• Experience with CAD software for layout design and process flow charting.

Responsibilities

• Analyze manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for improvement in efficiency, quality, and cost reduction.
• Design and implement new production layouts and workflows to optimize material and personnel movement.
• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for all manufacturing processes.
• Implement and promote lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, value stream mapping).
• Work with production teams to troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions on the shop floor.
• Manage projects related to new equipment installation, process changes, and capacity expansions.
