Placements24 is seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer focused on Plant Layout in Soweto to optimize facility operations. You will design, analyze, and implement layout changes to enhance productivity, safety, and cost efficiency within the manufacturing plant.
The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of plant layout experience, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD, SolidWorks), and a solid grasp of material handling and lean principles.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
- 3–5 years of plant layout design and facility planning experience.
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks) for designing industrial layouts.
- Strong understanding of material handling systems, production flow, and lean manufacturing.
- Experience with simulation tools for analyzing material flow is advantageous.
Responsibilities
- Design and redesign plant layouts and material flow to optimize production efficiency and ergonomic workspaces.
- Utilize CAD software to create detailed drawings, models, and simulations of layouts.
- Analyze current facility operations to identify bottlenecks, safety hazards, and space utilization improvements.
- Collaborate with production, maintenance, and safety teams to gather requirements and ensure layouts meet needs.
- Develop and implement project plans for layout modifications, including equipment relocation and installation.
- Ensure all designs comply with safety regulations, environmental standards, and building codes.
