Placements24 is seeking a Manufacturing Mechanical Engineer to optimize production lines and equipment performance at our Port Elizabeth facility. You will work hands-on with production, quality control, and maintenance teams to boost efficiency and drive process improvements.

The ideal candidate has 3–6 years in manufacturing or production engineering, strong CAD skills, and a solid understanding of lean manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
• 3–6 years of experience in a manufacturing or production engineering role.
• Proficiency in CAD software for tooling and fixture design.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes (machining, stamping, assembly).
• Experience with lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach.

Responsibilities

• Optimize and troubleshoot mechanical systems and equipment on the production floor.
• Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
• Design, fabricate, and install jigs, fixtures, and tooling to support manufacturing operations.
• Analyze equipment failures and implement preventative maintenance strategies.
• Collaborate with the engineering team on new product introductions and process validation.
• Ensure adherence to safety regulations and best practices in the manufacturing environment.
