Placements24 is seeking a Lean Manufacturing Engineer in East London to drive Lean initiatives, eliminate waste, and boost productivity across manufacturing areas.

The role requires applying Lean tools, leading change, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You will mentor staff and measure impact using KPIs to deliver tangible results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum 3 years in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
• Lean Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement Lean Manufacturing principles across the production floor.
• Conduct Value Stream Mapping to identify waste and develop improvement plans.
• Lead Kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects.
• Develop and standardize work procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
• Train and mentor employees on Lean tools and techniques.
• Measure and report impact of Lean initiatives on KPIs.

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive Lean initiatives and continuous improvement efforts within their operations in East London. This role is central to eliminating waste, improving workflow, and enhancing productivity across all manufacturing areas. You will apply Lean principles and tools to analyze processes, identify opportunities for improvement, and lead projects that deliver measurable results. The ideal candidate is passionate about Lean methodologies and possesses strong leadership and change management skills to foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and promote Lean Manufacturing principles across the production floor.
• Conduct value stream mapping (VSM) to identify waste and develop improvement plans.
• Lead Kaizen events and other continuous improvement projects.
• Develop and standardize work procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
• Train and mentor employees on Lean tools and techniques.
• Measure and report on the impact of Lean initiatives on key performance indicators.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing or continuous improvement roles.
• Certified Lean Practitioner or Six Sigma Green Belt is preferred.
• Strong understanding of Lean tools such as 5S, Kanban, JIT, and Poka-Yoke.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and facilitation skills.
• Proven ability to drive change and foster a culture of improvement.
