Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Nelspruit to enhance production efficiency and drive continuous improvement. You will implement lean principles across operations, eliminate waste, improve workflow, and boost productivity on the shop floor.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, has 2–4 years of lean implementation experience, and is proficient with 5S, Kanban, and JIT.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
• 2–4 years of lean manufacturing experience in a production environment.
• Lean or Six Sigma certification is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of 5S, Kanban, JIT and other lean methodologies.
• Excellent facilitation and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing tools (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Identify and eliminate non-value-added activities in production processes.
• Develop and deliver lean training for all staff levels.
• Analyze production data to identify waste reduction and efficiency gains.
• Facilitate cross-functional teams to solve problems and implement sustainable solutions.
• Monitor lean KPIs and report progress for Nelspruit site.

About the Role

This role is focused on implementing and sustaining lean principles across all manufacturing operations, aiming to eliminate waste, improve workflow, and maximize productivity. You will work hands-on with production teams, analyze processes, and implement best practices to foster a culture of excellence. The successful candidate will be passionate about lean methodologies and possess a strong ability to translate theory into practical, impactful results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and sustainment of Lean Manufacturing tools and techniques, including 5S, Kaizen, and Value Stream Mapping.
