Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive efficiency at their Mahikeng facility. You will lead lean initiatives, implement Kaizen events, 5S, and Kanban systems while delivering training on lean principles and continuously improving production performance.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering and at least five years in lean/CI roles, with strong data analysis and project management skills.

Responsibilities

About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced Lean Manufacturing Engineer to drive efficiency and productivity at their facility in Mahikeng . This role is dedicated to implementing and refining lean principles across all aspects of production. You will analyze workflows, identify waste, and lead initiatives to streamline operations, improve quality, and reduce costs. Working collaboratively with production teams and management, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. This is a vital role for an engineer passionate about lean methodologies and their application in transforming industrial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the identification and elimination of waste (Muda) in all production processes using lean tools.
• Implement and manage lean manufacturing initiatives such as Kaizen events, 5S, Value Stream Mapping , and Kanban systems.
• Develop and deliver training to employees on lean principles and continuous improvement techniques.
• Analyze production data to identify performance gaps and opportunities for improvement in Mahikeng .
• Work with cross-functional teams to implement process changes and sustain lean improvements.
• Monitor the effectiveness of lean initiatives and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a lean manufacturing or continuous improvement role.
• Demonstrated success in implementing and sustaining lean manufacturing programs.
• Proficiency in lean tools and methodologies.
