Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Specialist to drive operational excellence in Kimberley, South Africa. This hybrid role combines on-site collaboration with remote task management to promote efficient manufacturing processes.

You will implement and sustain Lean across all production areas, eliminate waste, improve flow, and coach teams in problem-solving to achieve measurable gains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering required.
• Minimum 5 years of experience implementing Lean Manufacturing programs.
• Proven track record in waste reduction and process improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean tool implementation (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping) across production.
• Analyze processes to identify waste, bottlenecks and improvement opportunities.
• Coach cross-functional teams in applying Lean principles and problem-solving.
• Develop and deliver training programs on Lean concepts to staff at all levels.
• Establish and track KPIs to measure Lean initiative effectiveness.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated Lean Manufacturing Specialist to drive operational excellence within their organization based in Kimberley . This role is focused on implementing and sustaining Lean principles across all manufacturing processes to eliminate waste, improve flow, and enhance overall efficiency. You will work closely with production teams, facilitating continuous improvement activities and fostering a culture of problem-solving. This hybrid position allows for essential on-site collaboration and the flexibility to manage tasks remotely, promoting an effective and balanced work environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and continuous improvement of Lean Manufacturing tools and methodologies (e.g., 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping).
• Conduct process analyses to identify waste, bottlenecks, and areas for improvement within production and support functions.
• Facilitate and coach cross-functional teams in the application of Lean principles and problem-solving techniques.
• Develop and deliver training programs on Lean concepts to employees at all levels.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of Lean initiatives.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in Lean initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering , Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in implementing and managing Lean Manufacturing programs.
• Proven track record of successful waste reduction and process improvement projects.
• Strong knowledge of Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and continuous improvement techniques.
• Excellent facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
• Ability to analyze data, identify root causes, and develop effective solutions.
