Job summary

Placements24 in Benoni, Gauteng, South Africa, seeks an Industrial Engineer with Lean manufacturing expertise to lead implementation and sustainment of Lean across production and operations. You will drive waste elimination, workflow improvement, and a culture of continuous improvement on-site.

You will apply Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Kaizen and JIT, train teams, analyze data, and collaborate with engineering to embed Lean into daily work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related discipline.
• Significant experience as an Industrial Engineer with Lean implementation.
• Expertise in VSM, 5S, Kaizen, Poka-Yoke, and JIT.
• Strong data-driven analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead Lean Manufacturing initiatives across the organization.
• Conduct Value Stream Mapping (VSM) to identify waste and non-value-added activities in production processes.
• Facilitate Kaizen events and workshops to drive rapid process improvements.
• Implement and sustain 5S workplace organization systems.
• Develop and maintain visual management tools to enhance communication and performance tracking.
• Train and mentor employees at all levels on Lean principles and tools.
• Analyze production data to identify opportunities for waste reduction and efficiency gains.
• Collaborate with operations and engineering teams to integrate Lean methodologies into daily operations.
• Monitor KPIs related to Lean implementation and operational efficiency.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement in problem-solving.
