Placements24 is assisting a well-established manufacturing client in Soweto by seeking an experienced Industrial Engineer focused on operations and efficiency. You will analyze production data, identify bottlenecks, and collaborate with production teams to drive continuous improvement and operational excellence.
The role emphasizes Lean principles, data-driven decision making, and hands-on optimization in a busy manufacturing environment within Gauteng.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field
- Minimum 4 years in industrial engineering/operations in manufacturing
- Strong Lean Manufacturing knowledge (5S, Kaizen, VSM)
- Proficiency in data analysis, process mapping and simulation tools
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
- ERP experience is advantageous
- Ability to work hands-on in a production environment
- Knowledge of Soweto manufacturing landscape is beneficial
Responsibilities
- Analyze current production processes and identify efficiency improvements.
- Develop strategies to optimize workflow, reduce waste and improve throughput.
- Conduct time/motion/work sampling studies to boost efficiency.
- Design and implement improved layouts for facilities and workstations.
- Collaborate with production management to set targets and monitor progress.
- Develop and maintain SOPs for key processes.
- Introduce and manage Lean tools and techniques.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing new equipment/tech.
- Track KPIs on productivity, cost and quality.
- Train and mentor staff on best practices and process improvements
