Job summary

AECOM in Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, seeks a Senior Engineer to lead structural design on medium-sized projects. You will deliver discipline input, perform design development, reviews, and documentation, and guide junior engineers.

Hands-on design with BIM tools is expected. You will coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams, ensure fully coordinated deliverables, develop client relationships, and contribute to bids and proposals.

Qualifications

• Degree in Civil Engineering (Structural) with 8+ years post-qualification.
• PR.Eng registration with ECSA for at least 3 years.
• Ability to build trusted client relationships that can lead to new business.
• Demonstrated collaborative and leadership skills; strong communication.
• Experience with American/European design codes preferable.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team of junior and mid-level Structures staff with mentorship.
• Ensure coordination with other disciplines for fully integrated deliverables.
• Provide coaching to less experienced staff to raise technical competence.
• Lead technical input to studies and design for specific areas of expertise.
• Interface with clients on schedules, meetings, and project issues.
• Support business development through technical input on bids and proposals.
