Job summary

AECOM seeks a Senior Technologist in South Africa to lead a structural design team, guiding junior staff and coordinating across disciplines to deliver fully integrated designs using BIM tools.

The role demands strong leadership, client engagement, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining safety and quality standards. You will contribute to a growing practice and shape major infrastructure outcomes.

Qualifications

• Requires B.Tech in Structural Civil Engineering; M.Eng preferred.
• Minimum 8 years post-qualification experience.
• ECSA Pr.Tech registration for at least 3 years.
• Ability to develop trusted client relationships.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead a design team of junior and mid-level structures staff daily.
• Coordinate with other disciplines to deliver fully integrated designs.
• Provide coaching and guidance to increase technical competence.
• Lead technically on projects to meet scope, budget, and schedule.
• Interface with clients on schedules, meetings, and issues.
• Ensure BIM tools are used for design documentation.
