Job summary

Placements24 in Centurion, Gauteng, seeks a Lead RF Network Engineer to design, plan and optimize radio frequency networks, including macro and small cell deployments. You will mentor a team, drive performance improvements and ensure alignment with rollout schedules.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in RF engineering, deep LTE/5G knowledge, and hands-on experience with Atoll and Planet, as well as drive-test analysis and antenna theory.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive RF network engineering experience.
• Deep understanding of LTE and 5G NR and RF principles.
• Experience with RF planning/optimization tools (Atoll, Planet).
• Drive test analysis, antenna theory and interference analysis.
• Leadership and team management skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, planning, and optimization of RF networks (macro and small cells).
• Oversee deployment of new RF technologies and equipment integration.
• Conduct RF site surveys and analyses to identify optimal locations.
• Analyze network performance data to identify improvements.
• Develop and maintain RF design guidelines and best practices.
• Mentor and guide a team of RF engineers.
• Collaborate with operations and field teams for rollout and maintenance.
• Manage vendor relationships for RF equipment and services.
