Placements24 seeks a Senior RF Network Planner in Gauteng to optimize South Africa's mobile networks. You will plan, design and execute strategies for superior coverage and capacity, using Atoll, Planet and TEMS tools, while guiding junior engineers and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

The role emphasizes RF propagation knowledge, 2G/3G/4G/5G deployment, drive tests and data analysis, with a hybrid work arrangement from the Tembisa office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 6 years of RF network planning and optimization experience in telecoms.
• Strong knowledge of GSM, WCDMA, LTE, NR/5G and RF propagation concepts.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute detailed RF network plans to meet coverage, capacity, and quality objectives.
• Perform RF site surveys, drive tests, and data analysis to identify performance issues and optimization opportunities.
• Utilize RF planning tools (Atoll, Planet, TEMS) for design, simulation, and optimization.
• Plan and coordinate deployment of new base stations and upgrades at existing sites.
• Analyze network traffic and forecast future capacity requirements.
• Collaborate with optimization teams to tune parameters and resolve degradations.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and spectrum guidelines.
• Generate reports on network performance and recommendations.
• Stay updated with RF engineering trends and mentor junior engineers.
