Placements24 in Vereeniging is seeking a Senior Telecoms Engineer specializing in RF to lead design, optimization, and performance tuning of RF networks across Gauteng. You will oversee site surveys, capacity planning, and upgrades, driving high-quality coverage and data throughput.

The role requires deep RF expertise, a strategic approach to infrastructure, and mentorship of junior engineers within a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of RF engineering and wireless network design experience.
• In-depth knowledge of RF propagation, antenna theory, and wireless standards (4G/5G/LTE).
• Proficiency with RF planning/simulation tools (Atoll, Planet).
• Experience with spectrum analysis, interference testing, and drive testing methodologies.
• Strong analytical and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and optimize RF networks including cellular and Wi‑Fi.
• Conduct RF site surveys, measurements, and analysis to identify coverage gaps and interference sources.
• Develop strategies for network capacity planning, expansion, and technology upgrades.
• Troubleshoot RF performance issues to ensure signal strength and throughput.
• Collaborate with hardware/software teams to integrate RF technologies and equipment.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance on RF engineering best practices.
