About the Role

Our client, a major player in the telecommunications sector, is seeking a highly accomplished Lead Project Manager to oversee the implementation of large-scale enterprise solutions. This role is critical for integrating new systems and technologies that will drive efficiency and enhance service delivery across the organization. You will be responsible for managing complex projects from initiation through to successful deployment, leading cross-functional teams, and ensuring alignment with strategic business objectives. The ideal candidate possesses extensive experience in managing enterprise-level IT projects, strong leadership capabilities, and a deep understanding of vendor management. This challenging position, located in Sandton, Gauteng, offers a significant opportunity to impact technological strategy for our client.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of complex enterprise solution projects (e.g., CRM, ERP, Billing Systems). Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, and resource allocation. Manage and motivate project teams, including internal resources, external consultants, and vendor personnel. Oversee vendor selection, contract negotiation, and ongoing vendor relationship management. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, developing proactive solutions. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including executive leadership. Monitor project progress, budget adherence, and key performance indicators, providing regular status reports. Champion best practices in project management and ensure adherence to quality standards and governance frameworks.

Requirements

A minimum of 10 years of experience in project management, with a substantial focus on implementing enterprise-level IT solutions. Demonstrated success in leading complex, multi-million Rand projects within the telecommunications or technology sectors. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture, system integration, and common enterprise software platforms. Exceptional leadership, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) and tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, ServiceNow). Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field. PMP, PgMP, or equivalent certifications are highly preferred. Experience working with large, complex organizations in Gauteng.
