• A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management with at least 5 years in complex system implementations (ERP, CRM, HRIS).
• PM certifications (PMP or PRINCE2) are required.
• Proficiency in MS Project, Jira and Asana; familiarity with Agile and Waterfall approaches.
• Strong leadership, communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills; vendor management and contract oversight.
• Experience with change management and user training for new systems.

About the Role

Our client, a leading diversified group, is seeking a highly competent Senior Project Manager to oversee the implementation of critical IT and business systems. You will be responsible for managing the full lifecycle of technology projects, from requirements gathering and system selection to implementation, testing, and user training. Key Responsibilities

Lead the planning, execution, and successful delivery of IT and business systems implementation projects. Develop detailed project plans, including scope, objectives, timelines, budgets, resource allocation, and risk management strategies. Manage cross-functional project teams, including IT specialists, business analysts, developers, and external consultants. Oversee system selection processes, vendor management, and contract negotiations. Ensure projects align with business objectives and deliver tangible value through improved efficiency and functionality. Manage project budgets, track expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered cost-effectively. Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues, implementing proactive solutions. Monitor project progress through regular status meetings, site visits (if applicable), and performance tracking, providing comprehensive reports to senior management. Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders, including business unit leaders and end-users. Oversee user acceptance testing (UAT), system integration testing (SIT), and training programs.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Information Systems, or a related field. A minimum of 8 years of experience in IT project management, with at least 5 years managing complex system implementation projects (e.g., ERP, CRM, HRIS). Proven experience managing projects within the Gauteng region or a similar corporate environment. Strong understanding of software development lifecycles (SDLC), IT infrastructure, and various business applications. Professional Project Management certification (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is required. Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Asana) and familiarity with Agile and Waterfall methodologies. Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to manage vendor relationships and complex IT contracts. Experience with change management and user training for new systems.
