Placements24 seeks a Senior Process Engineer to optimize upstream oil and gas facilities in Pietermaritzburg. You will lead process design, simulations and troubleshooting to improve efficiency and ensure safety on-site.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years in upstream Oil & Gas, strong analytical skills and experience with HYSYS/Aspen Plus. On-site role based in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in process engineering in upstream Oil & Gas.
• Proficiency with process simulation software (HYSYS, Aspen Plus) and process design principles.
• Strong understanding of fluid dynamics, thermodynamics and separation technologies.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Experience in Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal operations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement process improvements for upstream oil and gas facilities.
• Conduct process simulations and modeling to identify optimization opportunities and issues.
• Troubleshoot operations, analyze root causes, and recommend solutions.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance and project engineers.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies and project proposals.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Participate in PHAs and safety reviews.
