Job summary

Boardroom Appointments is seeking a Senior Platform and Compute Engineer for a 12 Month Contract in South Africa. The role focuses on maintaining service availability, leading critical customer engagements, and driving platform and compute initiatives across enterprise environments.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience with VMware vSphere, Hyper-V, Azure IaaS, Windows Server, O365, and DR solutions, along with relevant Azure and VMware certifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate or experienced professional with preferred certifications (AZ-305, VCP).
• Strong VMware, Hyper-V, and Azure IaaS skills required.
• ITIL Foundation is a plus; vendor certifications advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Maintain service availability for customers and perform routine maintenance.
• Proactively monitor alerts and status changes; update customers via phone and email.
• Lead engineer for key customers; participate in on-call rota for 24/7 support.
• Attend Change Advisory Board and represent Platform and Compute in meetings.
• Prepare and review technical incident reports and RCA findings.
• Collaborate with solutions team to develop new services and proposals.
