Job summary

Placements24 is seeking an experienced Petroleum Engineer to join their Midrand team. You will analyze reservoir data, design well plans, and oversee drilling operations to maximize efficiency and safety in oil and gas projects.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Petroleum Engineering with 5+ years upstream experience, strong modeling skills, and excellent communication. You’ll work with geologists and engineers on field development, with opportunities for professional development and relocation

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 5 years upstream oil and gas experience.
Proficiency in reservoir simulation software and well design tools.
Strong understanding of drilling techniques, completion technologies, and production optimization.

Responsibilities

Analyze reservoir characteristics and production data to develop optimal extraction strategies.
Design and supervise drilling and completion programs for new wells, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations.
Monitor well performance, identify production issues, and implement solutions to maximize hydrocarbon recovery.
Conduct economic evaluations of oil and gas projects and prepare technical reports for management.
Collaborate with geologists, geophysicists, and other engineers to understand subsurface conditions and optimize field development.
