Placements24 is seeking a versatile Plant Maintenance Technician to support our client's Vereeniging facility. You will conduct preventative, corrective, and emergency maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, ensuring reliable production and safety.

The role requires a traded qualification, strong diagnostic skills, and a proactive mindset with documentation of maintenance logs. On-site work with a collaborative team and opportunities for training are provided.

Qualifications

• Qualified in a relevant trade (e.g., Mechanical Fitter, Electrician) with plant maintenance experience.
• Proven experience in maintaining industrial machinery and equipment.
• Broad understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Commitment to safety protocols and a good safety record.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plant equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults in machinery.
• Respond to maintenance requests and address breakdowns promptly and effectively.
• Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs and reports.
• Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety and environmental regulations.
