The role requires a formal hospitality qualification and at least five years of housekeeping experience including supervisory work. Weekend/holiday shifts are common in hospitality operations.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and a formal hospitality qualification are required.
• At least 5 years' housekeeping experience, including 4 in a supervisory role.
• Experience in staff scheduling, stock control, room inspections, and quality standards.
• Demonstrated leadership and strong attention to detail.
• Experience in hotel or lodge housekeeping supervision is preferred.
• Familiarity with health, safety, hygiene regulations and housekeeping software.

Responsabilités

• Lead and coordinate room attendants, public area cleaners, housemen, and laundry staff.
• Check guest rooms, suites, cottages, public spaces, linen cupboards, and back-of-house areas daily.
• Assist in scheduling shifts and oversee in-house laundry/linen services.
• Monitor and order cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and linen stock.
• Report maintenance issues and coordinate room statuses with the front desk.
• Train staff on hotel standards, safety, chemical handling, and eco guidelines.
• Handle special requests, VIP setups, and guest feedback.
