Placements24 seeks an experienced Lead Geoscientist to guide exploration and development from the Bloemfontein office. The role requires a visionary leader with deep expertise blending geological, geophysical, and reservoir data to identify hydrocarbon opportunities.

You will lead a team of geoscientists, manage subsurface uncertainties, and contribute to strategic decisions to strengthen the asset portfolio and drive growth in the Oil & Gas sector.

Qualifications

• Master's or Ph.D. in Geophysics, Geology, or a related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in exploration or development geoscience in Oil & Gas.
• Expertise in seismic interpretation, attribute analysis, and basin modeling.
• Proficiency with Petrel, OpendTect, RMS.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and integrate geological and geophysical interpretations to define exploration prospects and development targets.
• Lead the technical evaluation of new venture opportunities and existing asset performance.
