Placements24 is recruiting a Lead Foundation Phase Teacher for a reputable primary school in Tembisa, Gauteng. You will guide Grades R-3, shaping early learning and leading curriculum development in a nurturing setting.

The ideal candidate has 5–7 years in Foundation Phase, with leadership experience, and a deep understanding of CAPS. You will mentor peers, promote innovative teaching practices, and contribute to a collaborative, child-centered environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education (Foundation Phase) or equivalent.
• SACE Teaching Qualification required.
• Minimum 5-7 years of teaching in Foundation Phase with at least 2 years in leadership/mentoring.
• Strong knowledge of CAPS for Grades R-3 and curriculum development experience.
• Excellent leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to mentor a teaching team and foster collaboration.
• Willingness to reside in or relocate to the Tembisa area.

Responsibilities

• Lead Foundation Phase teaching team (Grades R-3) with guidance and professional development.
• Develop and oversee Foundation Phase curriculum aligned with CAPS and best practices.
• Teach a designated class with exemplary methods and classroom management.
• Create a safe, inclusive, stimulating learning environment.
• Monitor progress with ongoing assessments and targeted interventions.
• Communicate with parents about student development and goals.
• Organize department meetings, curriculum planning, and parent consultations.
• Collaborate with school leadership to ensure a cohesive program.
• Promote positive behaviour and a respectful school culture.
• Contribute to school initiatives and community engagement in Gauteng.
