You will lead design, studies, and commissioning activities from concept to handover, while coordinating with stakeholders worldwide in a flexible, remote work environment.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in electrical engineering with at least 5 years in renewable energy and grid integration.

About the Role

Our client is at the forefront of the renewable energy revolution, developing innovative solutions for integrating sustainable power sources into existing grids. We are seeking an experienced and visionary Lead Electrical Project Engineer to spearhead critical projects. This is a fully remote opportunity, offering the flexibility to work from anywhere while driving significant impact in the renewable energy sector. You will be responsible for the end-to-end electrical engineering aspects of renewable energy integration projects, from concept and design through to commissioning and handover. The role requires exceptional leadership skills, a deep understanding of grid codes, power electronics, and project management, all applied within a collaborative, remote-first environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design and engineering for renewable energy projects (solar, wind, battery storage).
• Develop detailed electrical system designs, including single-line diagrams, schematics, and equipment specifications.
• Perform complex power system studies, including grid interconnection studies, harmonic analysis, and transient stability.
• Manage and mentor a team of electrical engineers, providing technical guidance and oversight.
• Liaise with grid operators, regulatory bodies, and other stakeholders to ensure project compliance and successful interconnection.
• Oversee the procurement, installation, and commissioning of electrical equipment and systems.
• Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets for the electrical scope of work.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies for electrical project challenges.
• Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to relevant national and international standards and best practices.

Requirements

• Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, specializing in Power Systems or Renewable Energy.
• A minimum of 10 years of professional experience in electrical engineering, with at least 5 years focused on renewable energy projects and grid integration.
• Demonstrated experience in leading engineering teams and managing complex projects.
• In-depth knowledge of power system analysis software (e.g., PSS/E, DIgSILENT PowerFactory, PSCAD).
• Strong understanding of grid codes, interconnection standards, and power electronic converters for renewable energy.
• Excellent project management skills, including experience with project management software.
• Proven ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders remotely.
• Professional Engineer (PE) or equivalent registration is highly desirable.
