Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our property and build services team, providing technical leadership for high-reliability power systems across data centre and industrial projects.

You will lead HV/MV/LV design, develop budgets and tender specs, coordinate with a global team, and ensure on-time delivery while building lasting client relationships. Travel locally and globally as required.

Qualifications

• BSc Eng. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering required.
• Professional Registration with ECSA (Pr.Eng or Pr.Tech Eng) required.
• At least 10 years consulting engineering experience with building services and industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of MV and LV power distribution systems.
• Knowledge of large-scale standby generation systems, synchronisation schemes, and system resilience design.
• Experience with Autodesk Products (Revit, Navisworks, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and delivery of HV/MV and LV electrical systems focusing on resilience and operational continuity.
• Prepare accurate designs, design calculations, budgets, tender specifications, and manage project financials and construction monitoring.
• Collaborate with a global multi-disciplinary team of engineers on a project and participate in design coordination.
• Complete projects from inception to close-out with limited input from management and senior engineers.
• Focus on client care and professional team management including on-time delivery.
• Develop and maintain client relationships, acting as a trusted technical advisor and securing repeat work.
• Set up client/consultant fee/contract agreements and manage professional fees on all projects.
• Manage internal office project finances including hourly forecasting, WIP and invoicing.
